Therapy Intensives in Raleigh, North Carolina: When Is It Time to Reach Out?

Calm, welcoming space for clients considering therapy intensives in Raleigh, NC

Maybe nothing is technically “wrong.”

You’re still getting up. Going to work. Answering the texts. Taking care of the people who count on you. From the outside, your life may look like the life you worked really hard to build.

But lately, it takes more out of you.

You’re not sleeping as well. Your patience is thinner. Focusing takes more effort. You finally get a little time to yourself, and instead of enjoying it, you’re too tired to do much of anything.

Maybe you’ve even caught yourself thinking, “I don’t know why I can’t just be happy. I have a good life.”

That question is often where the conversation starts.

You Don’t Have to Be in
Crisis to Reach Out

There’s a big space between “I’m fine” and “everything is falling apart.”

Therapy can happen there, too. People seek therapy for many reasons, including feeling overwhelmed, struggling with work or relationships, experiencing prolonged stress, or realizing their quality of life isn’t where they want it to be.

You may be functioning really well while also realizing that functioning is taking more energy than it used to. You might know exactly where some of your patterns come from and still have no idea how to change them.

Maybe you’ve already tried therapy. You’ve read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Journaled. Learned about boundaries. You have insight.

And yet, something still feels stuck.

Two things can be true at the same time: you can be incredibly capable and tired of carrying so much on your own.

What Is a Therapy Intensive?

A therapy intensive gives us more time than a traditional 50-minute session to stay with what we’re working on without having to stop just as we’re getting somewhere.

At Zen with Zur, I offer 90-minute therapy sessions and multi-day therapy intensives. My practice is virtual, which means clients in Raleigh can participate from a private space anywhere in North Carolina.

Longer doesn’t automatically mean better, though.

I don’t assume an intensive is the right fit simply because someone wants to make progress. Sometimes weekly therapy makes sense. Sometimes a 90-minute session gives us enough room. Sometimes an intensive may be worth considering.

The question is: What fits you?

How Do I Know If It’s
Time to Reach Out?

You might be wondering about therapy because you’re tired of saying:

“I’ve tried everything.”

Or maybe it sounds more like:

“I know what I’m doing, but I keep doing it.”

“I have everything I thought I wanted. Why don’t I feel fulfilled?”

“I’m exhausted, but I don’t know how to slow down.”

You don’t have to figure out whether those feelings mean you “need” an intensive before contacting me.

That’s something we can talk about together.

What Happens First?

Every new client begins with a 90-minute assessment.

We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, what feels stuck, and what you want to be different. I’ll also want to understand what has and hasn’t felt helpful in therapy before.

My approach integrates IFS-informed therapy, somatic approaches, and person-centered therapy. That may mean slowing down enough to notice patterns that are difficult to see when you’re busy managing everything else.

Deeper work can sometimes feel like a lot. My hope isn’t that you walk out with every answer.

It’s that you leave with more understanding of yourself and something tangible to practice between sessions.

You don’t have to know exactly what kind of therapy you need before you reach out.

We can start with the conversation.
